To those yg masih tak tahu apakah itu lowyat? Ia bukan nama taukey kedai vcd haram mahupun peminjam wang along ok. Its a plaza, so called LYP developed & owned by Lowyat Group. Lowyat Plaza is like micro-Akihabara in Japan. Walaupun tak penah pegi Akihabara (masih menanam impian agar subur kelak dapat pegi), tp the most latest up-to-date & cheapest pc items you find it there. Which consisting few shops that selling computer stuff / mobile / gadget. Just that, they didnt sell home electrical items like Akihabara does. OK, cukup utk pengenalan apa itu Plaza lowyat because I didnt get any commission for that. Nk tau lanjut, pegi sendiri.
Selanjutnya, post ini a bit technical, so those yg kurang mengerti, assume faham sajalah.
So, in away like 4 years ago, I still remember I bought my first personal computer menggunakan wang saku sendiri (walaupun disubisidi sikit dari boss). Punyala nk beli, survey dekat 4-5 kali turun naik lowyat dari shah alam. Maklum lah, RM2000 bukan nya sikit, dah la ptptn pun kene catu. So, survey sebaik mungkin. Dari tak tahu latest update, sampai pricing set each of the item dah boleh agak, so taukey kedai2 lowyat, jgn pikir nk tipu saya.eceh..
Berteraskan pemprosessan Intel Pentium 4 2.4Ghz/533MHz Bus/1MB cache (tgk, ada yg sudah mula berkerut dahi), time tu popular pasal processor hyper-threading, prescott support tah apa2 tah lagi, I bought the spec. Same old me, nak canggih2 tapi nk murah, belek brochure tu sampai lunyai. Pc tu la dok berkhidmat dari semester 1 sampai aku habis semester 6 kat UiTM. Ada la few times ulang alik lowyat after that dok menghantar warranty sb faulty product. Damn it!
So, last week, I went there again to buy PC. Far different, still, purchasing a PC with a price around RM2000. But the spec is far more super duper higher than 4 years ago. Dah macam server spec kalau 4 tahun dlu. With Intel just announce new intel chipset model processor iseries. Kalau u all pegi tgk i3, i5, i7, tu la dia, replacing the Core series and Core 2 duo tah apa2 lagi series2 dia. Kebanyakan, my observation there, i can see, not all people really know the terms of the specification of things they're going to buy. Macam ni, senang2 saja korang kena tipu ngn tokey kedai. I've been thru once before, time tu pegi lowyat. Ada sorang pakcik ni nak beli ADSL modem with LAN switch capabilities. So I dok tgh dok belek2 things , I heard sorang jurujual cuba meyakinkan pakcik ni, utk membeli ADSL modem tu. Katanya2 nya lebih kurang begini:
"Pakcik, ini higher speed, u tgk the speed, 100MBps (masa tu 100MBps paling laju pun for LAN connection), kalau pakcik pakai streamyx, 1MBps jer, so pakai ni lagi laju.." Muka pakcik macam termakan umpan dgn kata2 convincing jurujual.
With the statement above, utk penilaian anda:
1) Kalau korang nya understanding: "Cis pakcik ni dah kena tipu" maka korang ada darah2 techie dalam diri.
2) Kalau korang nya understanding: "Uish bagus tu, internet rumah aku pun 1Mbps jer" korang senasib dan bakal kena tipu kat lowyat kalau g sorang2
3) Kalau korang nya understanding: "Aku tak tau apa2, betul la kot?" Korang bukan jenis ambil tahu, dan mungkin satu masa nanti, bakal ditipu jua
Nak taknak, I'm in IT & computer stuff line, off course at least I need to know what is things need to know. Jgn kata korang2 yg line IT tak tahu. Sekeh sorang2 karang. In conclusion, if you dont know anything, bring somebody who at least know about it, and advise for you before you buy. Else, mungkin you don't mind being cheated.
Lepas beli pc tu, waited about one hour for them to assemble, my dad macam teruja melihat bnyk betul computer stuff situ, ckp nak angkat satu laptop jgk, aku singgah kedai lenovo, nampak satu new X100e series baru je launch, pricing around RM 1650. Nk taknak, beli la jugak, senang nak bawak & summore ringan. First time aku tgk lenovo Thinkpad (previously by IBM) producing white colour laptop. Lawa. Aku berminat, tp apa kan daya. X mampu. but then, the spec is not that high la, what u expect for RM 1600+ for a laptop. Tgk bawah ni, cun tak?
